About Schuylkill Valley School District

The Schuylkill Valley School District is located in northern Berks County in southeastern Pennsylvania, the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The district lies in the valley created by the Blue Mountains to the north and the Schuylkill River to the south and encompasses approximately 53 square miles that include the municipalities of Bern, Centre, and Ontelaunee Townships and the boroughs of Leesport and Centerport. The district is both rural and suburban, including farmland as well as business and light industry.

The district’s school buildings include the Schuylkill Valley Elementary Center, serving grades K-4; the Schuylkill Valley Middle School, serving grades 5-8; and the Schuylkill Valley High School, serving grades 9-12. District enrollment is approximately 2,000 students, distributed almost equally among the three buildings. District staff consists of 14 administrators, 151 teachers, and 82 full-time and 31 part-time support staff.
